DUET FOR WOLF

IMG_4053.HEIC

Have you ever dreamed of melting into a bookshelf or burying a librarian under a pile of books? DUET FOR WOLF is a site-specific participatory performance where the audience takes over the library through uninhibited play.

Together with three peculiar characters, the audience enters a world of fantasy where they can help shape what unfolds through their own impulses, ideas and sense of play.

DUET FOR WOLF is created as part of the literacy project DANSBYGD, which explores how literature can also be experienced through the body, space and movement, and how dance and choreography can be used as starting points for encouraging reading. The performance draws inspiration from picture books in general, and from the rich world of Swedish author and illustrator Eva Lindström in particular.

The audience participates in the performance with guidance from the dancers and by following instructions through headphones. Created in collaboration with Biblioteksutveckling Västerbotten, Dans i Västerbotten and five libraries in Västerbotten.
